THE rain continues to hammer down and the foreign holiday is off. Little wonder that women use sunbeds to get that sun-kissed look.
Now we learn that hopping beneath a human snack 'n' sandwich maker carries as great a threat of cancer as smoking cigarettes, with a 20 minute spell on some beds equivalent to spending an entire day baking on the beach.
We've known for years the threat that sunbeds pose yet there are still thousands of salons trading across the country.
For many people, the risk involved in achieving a tan is an acceptable one.
