Keystone honors student inventors

Several area students made the top 25 list of inventions during the annual Keystone AEA Invention Convention recently held in Dubuque and Elkader, Iowa.

The students will move on to the state convention on Saturday, April 21 at Hilton Coliseum, Iowa State University, Ames.

Forty schools sent 426 students representing 296 inventions to this year's event.

*Ben Zillig and Nicole Blum, Table Mound Elementary School, for Spud Safety.

*Kasia Runicka-Gneiser and Emily Smith, Bryant Elementary School, for Super Tree.

*Daniel Peterson and Jared Schulz, Bryant Elementary, for the Seedless Popcorn Bowl.

*Emily Grotz and Rachel Cummer, Resurrection Catholic School, for the Alarming Mouse Trap.

*Carmen McDermott and Alex Kenniker, Sageville, Iowa, for the Smokeinator.

*Ben Wessels, St. Francis Xavier, Dyersville, Iowa, for the Pig Panel Counter.

*Dillon Gaul and Brian Decker, LaSalle Catholic School, for the Bow Buddy.

*Michelle Gehl and Abby Green, Cascade Junior High, for the '2- in-1' Hotpad.

*Andy Kruse, Drexler Middle School, for the Skidloader Mirror.

*Bradley Miehe, Eleanore Roosevelt Middle School for the Knife Blok Lok.

*Steve Broihahn, Washington Middle School, for the Rockin' Cancoction.

*Aaron Collins, Washington Middle School, for the Fastball.
